An alliance has been formed between the Career & Work Counsellor Program at George Brown College, the Association
of Career Professionals International (ACPI) and the Institute of Career Certification International (ICC). This alliance is designed to mutually
benefit both our students and the Career & Work Counsellor Program by providing relationship-building opportunities for our students and encouraging
their ongoing pursuit of education in the field through ACPI's educational events and ICC's certification program.
Some of the benefits/highlights of
this alliance are:
- It creates an immediate network for George Brown College’s Career & Work Counsellor students, giving them instant connections in the field which will be valuable for both practicum and employment purposes. This will be particularly valuable to students who are new to the field and/or are newcomers to Canada.
- It gives graduates of the Career & Work Counsellor Program an advantage in pursuing post-diploma certification through the Institute of Career Certification International.
- It provides valuable connections to the private sector and corporate practicum/work opportunities for current students and alumni.
- It offers current students and alumni the opportunity to connect with mentors and experienced career practitioners through the Association of Career Professionals International.
- It enhances even further the value of the Career & Work Counsellor Program, which is the only diploma program of its kind in Ontario and the only program of its kind in Canada offering a special stream for Internationally Educated Professionals.
- It provides all these benefits to both alumni of the program and current students.
