Knife Techniques with Chef John Higgins

Do you have questions about how to select, sharpen or care for your knives? What are the different types of knives and what are their uses? Get the answer to these questions and many more on the video demonstration by Chef John Higgins, Director George Brown Chef School.

 

Dean's Recognition Program

Are you looking for an opportunity to:

  • Gain additional industry experience
  • Help out your fellow students
  • Contribute to the continued growth of George Brown College

The Dean's Recognition program has been designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom, while contributing to the success of the Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism.

Students who volunteer for this program will be required to assist with a minimum of 4 different functions throughout the academic year (like Orientation, Student Awards, and other industry events) in order to successfully complete the program.

Each Student enrolled in the program will receive:

  • Dean's certificate of participation
  • Letter of reference

including "Knorr Ready, Set, Cook & Win"

LINDT Sponsored Student Competition, April 19, 2005, 12 noon - 3 p.m. at Siegfried's (300 Adelaide Street East)

George Brown College will be hosting the Lindt & Sprungli Sponsored Student Competition. There are two categories of competition: Advanced Level Patissier and Baking and Pastry Arts.

Students from several colleges will have an opportunity to demonstrate their skill in preparing cakes, plated desserts, pralines, and cookies, squares or bars.
