First Impressions – Make Yours Count
Introduction from John Walker, Dean of the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts:
I find this fact fascinating – it is often said that within the first three seconds of a new encounter, you are evaluated “even if it is just a glance. People appraise your visual and behavioral appearance from head to toe. They observe your demeanor, mannerisms, and body language and even assess your grooming and accessories – watch, handbag, briefcase. Within only three seconds, you make an indelible impression. You may intrigue some and disenchant others.”
First Impressions supports the College goal of Graduates being number one choice.
It is with this in mind that I believe that we as individuals, student, staff, faculty – that as part of an academic and professional community we need to embrace this fact and make an impact! When it comes to the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts – I want us to be the best at what we do. I want our campus and everyone within it to be the best!
First Impressions supports our Vision of The Canadian Icon For Hospitality & Culinary Arts Training
The industry looks to us as leaders in our field – I want and need each and everyone of you to own this, be proud of it and live up to these high standards. Its how we showcase ourselves to the world!
