Institute Open House Invitation

On April 15, 2009, Maureen Loweth, Dean, Faculty of Business, Arts and Design, hosted the second Annual Executive Breakfast in the 54th floor boardroom of the TD Tower in downtown Toronto.

This year’s theme was on entrepreneurship and social innovation. Mr, Alan Broadbent, Chairman of the Maytree Foundation, was the keynote speaker.  

Mr. Broadbent captured the attention of the audience, which included entrepreneurs as well as business and financial leaders, with his presentation on communities and enriched citizenship. Mark Simpson, Coordinator of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Community Innovation, and Roxxena Farid, Business student, also presented at the Executive Breakfast.


> Dean's Award of Excellence

The Dean's Award of Excellence is awarded to any Centre for Business student in their graduating year.   

There is 1 (one) award open to all business students in their graduating year, valued at $1,000.00. (Application is now closed.)

> George Brown College Wins Most Improved Team at the 2008 SIFE ACE Competition. In the College's second year competing in the SIFE ACE showdown, George Brown College takes home two key awards - Press Release, June 2, 2008

George Brown College students who recently competed in the Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) national entrepreneurship competition, the country's largest and most prestigious student entrepreneurship contest run by the Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) student organization, were named the Most Improved Team for 2008. Armin Zohrabi, the president of George Brown's student ACE team, also brought home the Student Leader of the Year Award. [Read more...]

Toronto, ON (May 12, 2008) - In George Brown College's second year of participation in the Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) regional entrepreneurship competitions, a team of students from the Centre for Business was the first runner-up in both the HSBC SIFE Financial Education challenge and the TD SIFE Entrepreneurship challenge.  [Read more...]

TORONTO (April 27, 2008) – More than 80 George Brown College (GBC) students, the Centre for Business' best and brightest, were recently recognized with $31,000 in prizes presented at the thirty-second annual GBC Business Student Awards Ceremony held at the Hotel Novotel in Toronto.
