Program Comparison Help

Decision-making made easy! This tool gives you a breakdown of individual programs offered at George Brown College and how they differ from other programs you’re interested in. Use this tool to select up to 10 programs to compare, helping you make the right choice for the career you want.
Instructions:

1. Under Program Comparison, click Add a New Program

2. Search for one of the programs you’re interested in (either alphabetically, by interest or by job)

3. Click on the title of the program in the menu

4. Click Add to Comparison

5. Continue searching for programs using steps 2-4

6. When you’re done, clicking Program Comparison will give you a preview of the programs and the option to delete, add or clear all

7. Open Program Compare for more details and an easy-to-read comparison of the programs you’ve selected

Lorie Shekter-Wolfson smallLorie Shekter-Wolfson is Assistant Vice-President, Waterfront Development and Dean of Community Services and Health Sciences at George Brown College in Toronto.

A member of the senior management team since joining the college in 2002, Lorie is currently co-leading the development of George Brown College’s waterfront campus that will house the new Centre for Health Sciences. The new facility will be designed to embrace an interprofessional learning education framework enhancing wellness and health promotion.

As Dean, Lorie is leading an interprofessional education strategy to support the needs of a changing health-care sector that demands a more collaborative, team based approach to patient care. Her division operates a large Simulated Practice Centre, an Interprofessional Learning Clinic and nine daycare labs to support innovative applied learning.

Lorie brings a wealth of experience to her position. As a graduate from the University of Toronto Masters of Social Work program, she has worked as a clinician, an administrator, an educator and a consultant in the health-care system for many years before coming to George Brown. She has also authored articles on social work, marital and family therapy, interprofessional education as well as two books on eating disorders. Lorie is a frequent speaker at industry events and is the recipient of Colleges Ontario 2010 Exemplary Service Award.

Lorie is an active member on several health-related agency and government committees and boards. These include the UHN Family Health Team Board, Baycrest Clinical Strategy, Quality and Safety, and the Canadian Association of Allied Health Programs (CAAHP).
