George Brown hosted the inaugural Huskies Junior Badminton Tournament on Saturday, April 8 at St. James Campus.
With five disciplines competing, there was strong play across the board. “The feedback was very positive and encouraging, particularly considering that this was our first attempt at running a Junior Tournament,” said Assistant Coach Donnie Tai. “The excitement and competition level was great, and the support from both the players and parents was something we were very pleased with.”
The Huskies Badminton program is coming off an impressive 2016/17 campaign, one the saw Female Athlete of the Year Angeline Alviar, Ivan Chan, OCAA All-Star Alex Chao and OCAA All-Star Ben Yong pick up provincial medals. The Huskies were consistently ranked among the countries top ten programs, and look to be even stronger heading into 2017/18.
