At George Brown College, we are committed to providing every student with equal access to education. Support is offered through a variety of dedicated programs, initiatives, departments, staff and services, which include:
- Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services – Free accommodation services include interpreting, intervening, computerized note taking and peer note taking/tutoring for full-time, part-time and continuing education students.
- Disability Services – Services include adaptive technology, financial assistance, peer note taking, reduced course load and tutors.
- Test Accommodations – Students can request special accommodations for tests and exams, including quieter test sites, enlarged print, extra time and test readers/scribes.
George Brown recognizes that accessibility is a college-wide responsibility. To ensure that we’re able to meet all the standards established by the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), we’ve appointed an AODA coordinator to co-ordinate efforts across the college. For information and links on AODA standards, training and customer service policies, please visit our AODA page.
