Instructions:

This graduate certificate program is designed to provide hands-on training to students to enable them to apply and integrate the principles of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to all aspects of a construction project for any organization involved in procurement, design, construction, and operation. Successful students will be able to deploy BIM applications in integrated project delivery from project conceptualization, design and construction to facilities management.

Description  

This graduate certificate program is designed to provide hands-on training to students to enable them to apply and integrate the principles of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to all aspects of a construction project for any organization involved in procurement, design, construction, and operation. Successful students will be able to deploy BIM applications in integrated project delivery from project conceptualization, design and construction to facilities management.

Key features of the program include:

  • Class size is a maximum of 30 students. This class size provides increased access to a state- of- the- art BIM lab facilities and instructor interaction.
  • Semester s1 & 2 classes are flexibly scheduled for a two days/week (Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm) to assist students who wish to work part-time or continue to work in their current employment while in the program.
  • Semester 3 is a paid field placement which provides you with real-life opportunities to practice the skills learned in Semesters 1 & 2


Part Time Study Options  

Part-time study options are not available for this program; however, our Continuing Education department offers evening courses and part-time certificate programs in AUTOCAD and Building/Construction Technologies. See http://www.coned.georgebrown.ca

Upon graduation, students will be able to practice in an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) environment as Project Model Managers, BIM Coordinators, BIM Construction Officers, BIM Project Managers and Energy Modelers.

How to Qualify and Apply

Admission Requirements  

  • Degree or 3 year Diploma in Construction Engineering or Architectural Studies or equivalent
  • Proof of English proficiency where International transcripts are submitted

Certain Ontario Academic Credit (OAC), college or university credits may qualify you for course exemptions. Many courses are also eligible for prior learning assessment, based on your previous education and experiential learning. Please visit www.georgebrown.ca/transferguide for more information.
