Ontario College Graduate Certificate
The program provides a hands-on environment where you will learn and practice the specialized skills employers value related to estimating drywall systems for wall and ceiling assemblies.

Full Program Descriptions

The Drywall Systems Estimating graduate certificate program is offered in collaboration with the Interior Systems Contractors Association of Ontario (ISCA). The program is open to graduates of a three-year Construction Engineering Technology program.

The program provides a hands-on environment where you will learn and practice the specialized skills employers value related to estimating drywall systems for wall and ceiling assemblies. Class and lab work is project based to replicate on-site construction activities and will give you increased practice in current industry practices and procedures.

You will learn how to work on both commercial and residential interior finishing projects that require an understanding the components of the estimating process (specifications, scope of work, drawings and take-off process), tender/bidding processes, and using estimating and bidding software.

Key features of the program include:

  • Class size is a maximum of 10 students. This smaller class size provides increased access to lab facilities and instructor interaction.
  • Semester 1 classes are flexibly scheduled for three days/week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm) to assist students who wish to work part-time while in the program.
  • Semester 2 guarantees an 8-week paid field placement with a member of ISCA. This placement provides you with real-life opportunities to practice the skills learned in Semester 1.
