Can strip malls be converted into mixed-use neighbourhood centres? Can we create affordable housing without creating ghettos? Can communities take ownership of public spaces? Can we renovate the suburbs and create a new sustainable city?

The answers can be found in an exhibition created by students and faculty at the Institute without Boundaries (IwB) at George Brown College, on display at the School of Design from June 5 to July 26.

How can we build communities that promote healthy living and nature, affordability, diversity and involvement? How would you change your neighbourhood?

Open House - Information Session - National Health Sciences Students' Association (NaHSSA), Thursday January 22, 2009, 2-5pm

Open House – Information Session
National Health Sciences Students' Association (NaHSSA)
Thursday January 22, 2009

2-5 pm
Room B101 – B Building (corner of Kendal and Davenport)

  • Are you interested in meeting other health sciences students from across Canada?
  • Would you like to attend the national health sciences students conference this March?
  • George Brown College needs your help to form its own chapter of the National Health Sciences Students' Association (NaHSSA).
  • Jason Nickerson, National President of NaHSSA, will be here between 2-5 pm to answer your questions.

Formed in January 2005, the National Health Sciences Students' Association (NaHSSA) is the first and only national interprofessional student association in the world. As a diverse network of university and college-based chapters, NaHSSA seeks to address the unmet need of actively involving Canada's health and human service students in interprofessional education while promoting the attitudes, skills, and behaviours necessary to provide collaborative patient-centred care. NaHSSA has great potential to positively influence the educational and professional development of Canada’s next generation of health care providers and will become a premier pan-Canadian student federation capable of achieving great success in this area.
