Student success in college requires well developed learning skills and attitudes (such as being able to work independently,
participate in a team, be well-organised, develop good work habits, and show initiative). These skills are as important as prior academic
achievement. Applicants should have thoroughly developed these skills and attitudes before beginning their college programs.

OUR PROGRAM
Denturism program students at George Brown College are trained within the guidelines of the Denturist’s scope of practice. This includes: treatment
planning, design, fabrication and fitting of complete, partial, immediate and implant-supported dentures. Curriculum topics also include the study of
mouthguards, anti-snoring devices, teeth whitening and implants.
The program consists of a challenging curriculum including academic, clinical and “hands-on” laboratory skills. The students will study
science, dental sciences, health promotion and Denturist practice management. Students will learn to work within an interprofessional learning environment
fostering interprofessional skills.
The clinical evaluation is competency based, thus making the program length approximately three years. Please note: based on individual competency achieved,
graduation dates may surpass three years.
All areas of study will observe the International Baseline Competencies Profile for Denturist Education.
The program is accredited by the Denturist Association of Canada (DAC) and sanctioned by the International Federation of Denturists (IFD). Graduates
of this program must successfully complete the licensing examination to be eligible for registration by the College of Denturists of Ontario in order
to practice as a Denturist.
Note: Students must meet all medical and legal requirements for this program outlined on the Pre-Placement Health Form. This may take 6 to 8 weeks.
To see those requirements go to www.georgebrown.ca/preplacement. Students who are unable to meet these requirements will be unable to complete the program.
This program is unique in Ontario.
WORK PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
There is a field placement opportunity for all students in the sixth semester of the program.
ADDITIONAL COSTS
There will be additional costs to the program in each year of study, including textbooks, appropriate laboratory/clinical attire, personal protective
equipment, and a tool kit for each year of the program. These costs must be paid by the tuition due date.
YOUR CAREER
Denturists choose to either establish a private clinical practice or associate with other denturists/dental health providers. Denturists are specially
trained in both clinical and laboratory aspects of fabricating dentures to suit the needs of every individual.
