SMITH ARULANANDAM (T411
Post-Diploma Program)
My feedback regarding
the courses is as follows:
- I enjoyed the
course very much and it was very exciting for a person like me,
who came from a software
development background
- I was expecting
to learn only few new things in both wireless and networking,
but with this course, not
only I learned a lot more than anyone could expect but also resulted
in a renewed interest in reshaping my career in the fields of
wireless LAN, Wi-Fi security and VoIP
- Moreover, all the course subjects
and site tours were applicable to the entire program. Each
subject perfectly targeted and focused core topic of "Wireless
Networking". To be very honest, when I had a chance to look back
at what I had learned, I was truly inspired by this program
Because of this, I have
already recommended to several of my friends who have a similar
background, to join
this program at George Brown College.
Mr. Jacky
Min: I am proud to say that
I gained very good hands-on experience in Wi-Fi LANs and with
Cisco routers, because of Mr. Min. I will never ever forget him.
He also
gave me extremely good advice on what resources should I use to
be successful in the industry.
The textbooks and the
reference books used in all semesters, I feel, will be extremely
useful in shaping
my career in this field.
Dr. Khalid
Danok: If it had not been Dr.
Danok's teaching,
I would most likely have lost interest in the entire program. The
way Dr. Danok taught me about the complexities of RF was
simple and easy to follow. His teaching inspired me very much and
showed me how a teacher should deliver the complex subjects such
as RF modulation techniques, in an understandable way. He
is very considerate, reasonable and understanding.
I still keep notes from the first semester,
because, I consider them a valuable reference for a person like
me, who has less knowledge in RF, electricity, power, radio transmission,
etc.
Dr. Shazia
Hasnie: I am grateful and thankful
to Dr. Hasnie because, she is the one who taught me about, what
it is to be a "professional" and
how this reflects on his or her work. It was only because
of her stress on professionalism that I was able to contact and
use as many as resources possible and each of them reflected their
professionalism. I realized, how professionalism is extremely
important, not only in our daily life but also in the work we do
and the companies we represent.
To GEORGE
BROWN COLLEGE: As a student, who
has been able to fully absorb and enjoy this program, I would like
to say a sincere
thank you,
from bottom of my heart, to the creators of this program and
to the institution, for giving me an opportunity to find where
my career should lead, in this ever more competitive world.
Thank you.

I am Seyed
Hamid Zarringhalam, one of the former students of Wireless
Networking at George Brown College.
I want to thank you all for creating this program and sharing
your knowledge with us.
Considering this was a one year college level program the students had a good
hands-on experience supported with a very good level of wired and wireless
networking information. What I found with this program is that the graduates
become a Wireless Network experts who are able install and troubleshoot both
wired and wireless LANs in addition to the experience with antennas and other
wireless equipment.
In my opinion, the market needs people trained as Wirelees
Network designers who have hands-on experience with GSM, GPRS, CDMA, TDMA
as well as Wireless
Engineers with hands-on VoIP, RF and Wireless development with J2ME, XML,
etc. Jobs for graduates of this program are available and I am
optimistic, about
my chances. All together being at George Brown with experienced and knowledgeable
people and with students from different parts of the world was a good opportunity
and experience. I consider myself lucky for having had the opportunity to
attend and graduate from this program at George Brown College.
