Wireless Networking Program (Postgraduate)
New Online Lab Access
The wireless program just launched online access for the program
students. The online lab provides all possibilities to accommodate
practical network courses. Students can verify and practice on
what they have learned in the classroom anytime and anywhere. Rack
time is flexible according to the schedule of each group.
This
is the first class online study environment in Ontario. There
is no limitation on hours and locations, the access is purely available
in Internet and securely protected only for registered students.
The
online lab is designed to help the students learn topics such
as Routing, Switching, Fire walling, VoIP, IPSec, VPN, NAT,
AAA,
QoS, NMS, Wireless LAN, etc. High end equipments are available,
including Cisco 3550 layer 3 switches, 2611MX routers with
Voice/ATM modules, PIX515 firewalls, Frame Really Switches, Remote
Access
Server, Digital PBX, Wireless Bridges, Access Points, Dell
Blade servers. Based on this equipment with full features, we created
a project-oriented scenario which helps students to learn the
real-life skills. The online rack allows students to design
their
own networks,
to implement hybrid network scenarios, to monitor system performance
and troubleshoot problems.
We are working on the expansion
of this online lab to include post-secondary students and incorporate
emerging network features
such as Video
Telephony, Secure Network Storage.
