Student success in college requires well developed learning skills and attitudes (such as being able to work independently,
participate in a team, be well-organised, develop good work habits, and show initiative). These skills are as important as prior academic
achievement. Applicants should have thoroughly developed these skills and attitudes before beginning their college programs.

Wireless communications are pervasive in our lives. They have grown in the last few years to include everything from personal communications
networks to businesses and hotels, to condos and corner coffee shops. There’s no end in sight to the growth of our wireless world.
George Brown’s leading-edge three-semester (one-year) postgraduate Wireless Networking program is designed to put you at the centre
of this exciting world with high-demand skills in radio frequency (RF), cellular, broadband and narrowband communications. In fact, George
Brown’s expertise in this field has been confirmed with its designation as a Cisco Regional Academy for Wireless Networking and Security.
We offer you a unique choice of career direction. You can specialize in:
- Cellular Technologies
- Broadband Communications
- Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
Other program advantages include:
- A course structure that has departed from the lecture models to approximate the project-based world in which students will work when
they graduate. Students will be involved in real-world projects for one or two days per week with our corporate partners; making proposals,
and then working in teams to plan projects, set schedules and achieve goals.
- George Brown has invested over $1.5 million to create up-to-date wireless and RF labs so that all students gain individual hands-on experience
preparing equipment configurations as well as small router access points.
Note: In this rapidly changing industry, program improvements are being made on an ongoing basis, resulting in course changes. Changes are
made in consultation with our Program Advisory Committee (PAC), which is composed of academic staff and industry representatives from small,
medium and large corporations. Visit our website for up-to-date information.
YOUR CAREER
The specialized education in this program helps graduates get jobs in a wide variety of positions connected with wireless LAN support, wireless
service providers, and cellular and broadband providers.
