Student success in college requires well developed learning skills and attitudes (such as being able to work independently, participate in a team, be well-organized, develop good work habits, and show initiative). These skills are as important as prior academic achievement. Applicants should have thoroughly developed these skills and attitudes before beginning their college programs.

OUR PROGRAM

Our high number of in-class studio training hours allows students to develop a solid technical dance foundation and provides more focus on individual needs and strengths. Dance Performance Preparation offers courses in Classical Ballet, Jazz Dance, Modern Dance, acting and vocal singing. Unique to George Brown Dance is the combination of strong professional dance standards with the benefit of a full post-secondary experience.

STUDENT SELECTION

Students auditioning for Dance Performance Preparation require a minimum of five years training in Jazz or Modern Dance and elementary level training in Ballet (three to five years).

YOUR CAREER

Students completing this program can pursue more specified training towards a future in the dance industry.
