Course Outline
George Brown College utilizes the following standard course outline template for all of its course outlines.
A new Web-based tool for building and archiving course outlines - the Course Outline Management Tool or COMT (pronounced "Comet") is being phased
in over the 2009-2010 academic year. In the interim, you can download either an HTML or Word version of the template below. For assistance
in drafting your course outline, the How to Build a Course Outline handbook is available on INSITE under
Academic Excellence: http://insite/academicexcellence/.
Templates
You
can download the HTML template for your Course Outline to use in Blackboard. Right-click on
the blue HTML document icon to the left and choose Save Target As..., save to your own computer, then modify as you choose. This
template doesn't contain the [see notes] references that can be accessed by scrolling through the sample course outline on this page. Alternatively,
the HTML template can be downloaded as a Zipped file .
If
you'd like the MS Word template, click
on the WORD document icon and save it to your computer. You can also cut and paste your course outline from Word into the new Course Outline Management
Tool (COMT). Comprehensive COMT training materials are available on INSITEunder Academic Excellence.
Sample Course Outline
This course outline has links to notes which explain each section. Clicking on [see notes] in any section will bring
up a description for that section. Some of the [see notes] sections also include links to sites you may find helpful when developing/revising
your course outline. |
